HANDSTRIPPING

Hand stripping is a technique used for some wire coated dogs, which maintains the natural colour and texture of the coat. This service requires more time than our other packages, therefore, I allow adequate breaks half way through the process.

I use a range of hand stripping tools to get the desired look, and scissor tidy (if necessary – depending on breed) areas needed.

The package also includes

Puppy Introduction to grooming.

At Earth Dog Grooming I recommend a puppy to be groomed at 10-12 weeks old after their second vaccination.

Early introduction is something I believe to be vital for puppies, especially breeds that will require regular grooming as adults, for example most of our beloved DOODLE BREEDS.

The earlier that puppies are introduced to the grooming process, the more at ease they will be with it, and the more they will enjoy the process.

Little Stars Package is suited for puppies up to 5 months of age, and a week has passed since their second vaccinations then the pups are ready to be introduced to their grooming sessions.

Little Stars Package is a set price of £100 and includes four, one hour* visits spaced 3 weeks apart with the sole purpose of getting your dog used to the grooming process.

Each session will be led entirely by your puppy and you will receive an individual ‘progress report’ after each visit so that you can see how well they are doing and what areas I need to work on the next time they visit.

I will take each session at the pace and comfort of each individual puppy, but my aim is to achieve some/all of the following:

• Bath

• Gentle blow dry,

• Brush out

• Nail clip

• Hygiene clip,

• Face tidy

• Feet tidy

• Teeth cleaning

• Ears Cleaned

** Some more confident puppies might comfortably achieve all of this on their first visit, but as our aim is to ensure that each session is ended on a positive note, and that the puppy is comfortable throughout, then some puppies may need a more gradual introduction over the four visits.

I will assess the progress of your puppy *and if I feel he/she is ready beforehand for their full groom I will then discuss the additional cost to do so with the pet parents.

ULTRASONIC TEETH CLEANING

Price on inspection of the doggies teeth.

Emmi Pet Ultrasonic toothbrush gently works away plaque from dog's teeth. This is vibration-free and no actual brushing or scrubbing is necessary, making this a stress-free experience for your dog.

Some dogs are more susceptible to plaque growth than others. Until recently the only solution to plaque build-up has been a trip to the vets, with a general anaesthetic and descale, with a high possibility of extractions in the worst cases.

At Earth Dog Grooming we use an Emmi pet toothbrush for our teeth cleaning. This ultrasonic toothbrush over the course of several appointments, gently dissolves the plaque on your dog's teeth.

The Emmi pet toothbrush is vibration-free and no actual brushing or scrubbing is necessary, making this a stress free experience for your dog as it is simple and non-invasive. You will notice that it improves your dog's whole oral health, from their breath and gums to the tartar build-up on their teeth.

TWINKLE TOES NAIL CLIPPING

£15 – 30mins

Keep those nails short and neat with regular nail trims. These appointments are available as a stand alone appointments.

Dogs need their nails clipped on a regular basis, approximately every 3-4 weeks; however, it is common for owners to wait too long in between trimmings which can lead to a number of health issues for the animal.

Long nails create potential issues for animals:

• A splayed foot

• Reduced traction

• Deformed feet

• Injured tendons over time.

As long nails hit the ground, it puts force on the foot and leg structure. This force can potentially lead to arthritis and ongoing pain.

GOLDEN OLDIES

Additional £10 to any of our grooming services.

As our precious pets age, their tolerance and ability to cope with lengthy grooms become very difficult for them, but in the same breath they still deserve to be pampered.

This is where the GOLDEN OLDIES PACKAGE is beneficial to the more senior doggies at Earth Dog Grooming.

This package allows a longer appointment time, which includes a relaxing break for a tasty organic grain free treats. (With owner’s permission)

The golden oldies are given the time to rest their legs with adequate breaks and I will try and perform most of their groom in their most comfortable position.

Regular toilet breaks and lots of cuddles and reassurance.

This package includes all the treatments that the ‘FULL WORKS GROOM’ offers, with an additional Mineral Mud Bath (this Peanut & Pickle MUD BATH) Exfoliates the skin with mud packed full of natural minerals, this mud bath is sure to leave your dog soothed silky and shiny! Self-preserving and unfragranced, perfect for a senior dog’s sensitive skin.

Also consider that giving your older dog a fancy breed standard style may be no longer appropriate for them. This grooming process can take a much longer time and can be gruelling on the GOLDEN OLDIES. Consider them being cut in a shorter style as it will take less time and leave them more comfortable for a longer period. This way they don’t have to be groomed as often and that can be much less stressful on them.

While this package is primarily designed for our older clients, it is available to anyone! Dogs of a nervous disposition, or dogs who are not particularly used to the grooming process, may also benefit from this package.

FEELING FRESH

This service is ideal for that little rascal that always seems to finds the FOX POO and make the decision that it’s a great idea to roll around in it and even eat it …. Yucky as it may sound but lots of doggies adopt this behaviour and is completely normal dog traits.

This service is the ideal grooming option between grooms to keep them odour free until their next appointment.
